In my humble opinion McDonald's makes the best coffee; but they can't do milk - its either white powder or cream. So I get black and add milk to taste at either home or office.stuholdenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08997022124899960343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3439316272064745899.post-7274414596944066362016-02-02T17:10:32.157-06:002016-02-02T17:10:32.157-06:00I have a small "5 cup" coffee machine at...I have a small "5 cup" coffee machine at home but at work we have a keurig that I use every so often. I definitely find it annoying that you have to turn it on and wait it for it to heat up before you can select your size and put in the pod. Seems it would make more sense that when you select your size it would just start brewing whenever it gets hot. A large box arrived in about 3 days from Keurig with nothing to say anything was missing or backordered. We took it to USPS and sent it on - Merry Christmas troops!!!

Then, 3-4 days later a second box from Keurig. Turns out the first box wasn't the full order. So we now have further postage to send this next box. When we rang Keurig (HORRIBLE hold music aside) all the staff were interested in doing was justifying their inadequacies and saying that they'd delivered within their guaranteed 8 day timeframe so they'd done their job. Starbucks uses this cheap bean, and 'over roasts' it to cover up the bland taste it generally has. Hence the bitter, burned taste. The pods, regardless of rhe brand, are Arabicas. ( their costs) after much research it seemed the same defect was why others were going out. My cousin bought 2 and both lasted less than a few months. I've decided to buy the one cup Hamilton Beach. It's on sale for 39.99.. Keurig has gotten too big and given the competition out there, I hope they improve their products. Since mine Keurig died last year I have been using my small percolator. After returning one of the faulty, new 2.0 ripoff versions that the Kcup must have the white Keurig ring in order to work with 2.0 models. Keurig owns all coffee brands/flavors in this new Kcup that does not work with previous models. There are a fraction of choices for 2.0 models & 250+ choices with 2013 & earlier models. My KCup does not work with 2.0 model. Keurig has you by the hair if you buy one. Only their new Kcups work, they're more expensive & fewer choices. The model I wanted was on sale & out of stock so that's how I got my K65 discounted down to $90. Can't beat that! Funny we both got ours at such a discount! It was $149.95. Has timer but I set timer for 6AM, water heats & when we get to kitchen, we stick our Kcup in & brew a 6, 8 or 10 oz cup. I drink a very dark roast so I put my Polka Dotted Mega Mug under it, push the 10oz button, let it brew, cock the lid & brew the 6oz.(one Kcup). It's still stout & I have room for cream & flavor. Ours automatically comes on @ 6AM & goes off @ 10PM. Some people leave theirs on 24/7. Not me. It has a brewing temp w/ a max temp of 192°. HOT! Our 12 yr old makes hot chocolate with Kcups CAREFULLY! You cannot use My Kcup with hot choc w/mini marshmallows. Lol Marshmallows clog filter & hot choc can't drain through. Buy a jar of marshmallow creme to add a plop afterwards. Yum! It has the filter in the water tank & I also use a Brita Filter pitcher for drinking water. I also use the Brita filtered water in Keurig. There's no "max level" for water hardness in WY! I've heard of people having trouble after rescaling machine. Use distilled or filtered & it won't happen. Plus coffee tastes so much better made w/filtered water. shihtzuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10261044146206037470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3439316272064745899.post-87867614112054440652014-11-09T23:57:23.554-06:002014-11-09T23:57:23.554-06:00I love my Keurig that I purchased at All Best Coff...I love my Keurig that I purchased at All Best Coffee Makers. Wow! I could not have had a more different experience. My call today was answered by a woman who was not only unhelpful, but rude. I was told that because my warranty had expired, I should "throw the machine out, like I would do with any other household appliance". I was appalled. Protesting, I said "I would not "throw out" ANY of my appliances! I would try to FIX them!" But because it is not under warranty, and they have no outside vendors (like Sears) that they endorse, their solution is to toss this EXPENSIVE ITEM in the trash. I said that this seemed absurd in an age where people are trying to be conscientious about the environment. I mean- there is not even a way to recycle this poor thing that I once loved so much? It just goes in the rubbish? "Yes". I asked if everything she was telling me was reflective of "official corporate policy" and was told firmly that it was. But the real kicker was when she reassured me that it was my lucky day! Keurig was apparently willing to offer me a discount of nearly $20 off my purchase of the same machine again. I was speechless. Apparently uncomfortable with my silence, she said "well, don't worry- you don't have to make a decision about it today". Whew! What a *relief*. (Rolling my eyes). So BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK, friends. Admittedly, this is the only time I've ever called them- but in this case, once was enough. The funny thing is that, in spite of the ridiculous cost of the K-cups, I was just talking to my co-workers yesterday about how sad I was over my Keurig breaking! I said: "I've gotta get this guy fixed because I just love him so much!" And today, when I made that phone call, it didn't even dawn on me to be pessimistic. I was sure that this machine would BE fixable- until she reassured me that it WAS NOT. And therefore must be DESTROYED. Whoa, lady. The real point here is that even if I DID need to buy a new one, it would have been SO EASY to keep me as a customer if that call had just been handled differently. In fact, if I had continued to believe that Keurig was a decent company, I might have actually considered investing in a BETTER model than the one I currently have. In the span of 5 minutes, they've lost a customer for life. And I will re-tell this story every chance I get. Co-workers, friends, family: they will all have THIS in the back of their minds before they consider buying a Keurig. I hope it was worth it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04838812240935548968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3439316272064745899.post-74005882926030634272014-07-10T23:37:40.398-05:002014-07-10T23:37:40.398-05:00This is a late reply but the cat mug was found by ...This is a late reply but the cat mug was found by my mom (hubby's MIL) at TJ Maxx! My beef is that it doesn't heat the water hot enough. It's supposed to have a top end of 192 degrees (F), but ours tested at 167 degree when set at the hottest level. I was able to return it for a replacement, but the second one is almost exactly the same. I shouldn't have to heat my tea in a microwave after brewing it in the Keurig!! I don't want to go through the bother of returning a second one, so I'm just stewing with this one. By the way, I have one of the cheapy Keurigs at school (that you fill a single cups worth), and I love it, because it's much hotter.cynshahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02335007794048785557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3439316272064745899.post-89696165262880414172014-06-27T15:13:07.721-05:002014-06-27T15:13:07.721-05:00Hi,

Then I have my keurig....my coffee baby. My dad Bought me one three years ago. I burnt it up. I drink a lot of coffee and I never turned it off. Apparently your supposed to turn it off when not in use....because it keeps the water hot. And it will eventually burn out. Which I think three years constantly on...about 3 cups a day....I personally think it did well :)

So I bought a new one...with a few more features. I love my keurig. My hubby says I drink too much coffee, which is true... But I also drink large mugs of coffee and I have always run a k cup through twice. Once on the largest setting then again on the smallest setting. Everyone gives me a hard time about that, but I honestly found with a medium roast blend...it tastes fine. Its my "perfect portion" lol.

I do have a severe coffee addiction. I admit it. K cups are pricey. Although the hubby picks about my coffee obsession, I'm a stay at home mom, and I'm not one to spend money on myself often. So he likes I have one thing for myself I really enjoy (he doesn't drink coffee) so he supports the addiction. (Hehe)

I really do love my keurig. It is the more expensive coffee choice. I totally agree. I don't love that aspect. But I absolutely think it makes the best coffee ever. Even when I go to restaurants , I never think the coffee tastes as good as my keurig baby. I have recently bought the "my k cup" to use my own coffee to cut down on the cost, but I can't say I love it. The taste is perfectly fine...but I think its messy and a pain. I like popping a k cup in there and being done lol...but for the sake of money....I do use the "my k cup" from time to time. Or when money is tight.

So that's my take :) PS. My favorite k cup is dunkin donuts. However they can only be bought at the actual dunkin donuts shop. So that's when the actual "my k cup" comes in handy. You can buy the bags of ground dunkin donuts coffee in grocery stores :) momaof3lilmonkeyshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10993677905495733524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3439316272064745899.post-30309030968364983862014-06-05T16:06:21.080-05:002014-06-05T16:06:21.080-05:00I had asked for a Keurig for Christmas last year, ...I had asked for a Keurig for Christmas last year, but then changed my mind. Then asked for & received a French Press and again changed my mind. I decided against the Keurig because the cost of pods and returned the FP because of the process of having to heat the water first. I started rethinking the Keurig because I only drink one cup in the morning and a friend recently posted on FB that she got a Keurig and loves it. Most of her FB friends "Like" it as well. Soooo, I was looking at the models and searching for reviews and came across yours. Along with being entertained by your review I've come away with deciding against the Keurig. I ended up just getting a cheap B&D at Walmart (it's actually not a bad maker for $14, with a timer, auto off/on, etc! (Like you, I just don't set the auto...too much to think about...lol. But occasionally, I will set up the coffee and water the night before, then just push the on button while I'm doing other things, so it's ready when I am.) I had occasion to try out the Keurig recently...the dentist's office has one. I found it very convenient, too. I decided that if I did get one, I'd HAVE to get the "forever" filter. I love a dark, rich coffee (Foldger's Black Silk). But after reading your troubles, I decided that I won't get one. It would be just my luck to get one that never worked properly (happened 3 times when I was looking for a bread maker. Zoji makes the best bread makers, btw!). But 2 of my daughters really want to get a Keurig! I was intrigued, tho, by the last comment, about the Keurig Rivo the person got for free. BTW, I really LOVED your hubby's cat mug!
Where did your MIL get that??? It's perfect! I tried with the regular Keurig and I said ok Shannon stop being so cheap just buy a good one. Well right before I bought the Keurig Platinum my mother in law (my dear sweet mom in law) went ahead and surprised me with one after I had her first grandchild! Well the first cup I made was pretty good, but it went ALLLLLL down hill after that. The coffee came out weak, watery, burnt, not hot enough, you name it I had a problem with it. The only good thing about the Keurig was the fact that they honor there warranty!! Well I want to work out these issues because it is always nice to have a spare. I threw out the old and they sent me a new one. I got it today. Again the first cup was good and back to getting burnt tasting coffee. BUT I signed up on a website to get a free Keurig Rivo (this is an espresso maker with a frother add on that will make cappuccinos, lattes, americanas, super-fattening salted caramel mocha and more lol). When I got it home I fell IN LOVE!!! The espresso tastes like I am truly in Italy having a cup there! But I am not a fan of cappuccinos and lattes I am a plain girl and I like my coffee. Well not after having their cappuccino and latte. Not only are there ways to make it taste like regular coffee but I would be JUST FINE drinking a few cups of latte and capps every morning! The taste is like no other. I been to big and small coffee shops. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING compares to this machine. PLUS I have spending money on myself when I have two kids and a newborn! I feel guilty! So not having to buy a cappuccino or coffee somewhere makes it all worth while. The coffee is about $13 a box around there. But once you register ANY brewer you are qualified to get 10% off and as you buy more the percent off will be higher and higher!! I personally am up to 30% off because I can't get enough of this coffee. On an average day I like to drink 2 cups of coffee and usually don't finish the last one. Well my addiction started and with a fury! I drink 4-5 cups of cappuccino or latte a day!! I could drink more but then I would have to buy double the coffee I do and I do not want to feel guilty!! LOL. Now whenever I have a glass of coffee it means nothing and does nothing for me. It just doesn't do it for me any more. If you want an amazing tasting, never yucky, will wake you up (ESPECIALLY MOM'S) everytime, honest to goodness cup of coffee (well cappuccino or latte or espresso or even make it to taste like coffee in two easy steps!!) then get the rivo. I will put all the money in my bank account on it that you will ADORE the machine and FREAK OUT over the delicious coffee!!! I will never go back to anything else again!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18349960315694785981noreply@blogger.com
