We have 2 trees... the kiddo's tree and the mommy's "fancy" tree, named by my oldest kiddo. :) My "fancy" tree is a 9 foot beautiful fake that I was lucky enough to score at Hobby Lobby 80% off 2 years ago. I LOVE it. It is pre-lit and very realistic for a fake tree.
When we bought it we knew we were moving to our current home although we hadn't moved in yet. I wanted a big tree for the living room since it had a vaulted ceiling and a sunburst window. The height of the tree is perfect but man, that sucker is fat too!! It takes up half my living room! We probably could've used a slim but I honestly love the fullness of this tree, it takes up the whole window and it's more for me to decorate than a little slim tree.
My fat and "fancy" tree is in tones of our living room... bronze, gold, and silver.
The tree looks best in low light... I will add some day light pics too since this is a little dark. It's hard to get a good picture of a Christmas tree.
I found the perfect bronze tree skirt at Sam's Club (last year) of all places.
I love to have things sticking out of the tree and put lots of picks in like these silver berries.
One of my favorite ornament is this Dept. 56 angel that is about 12 inches long...
These remind me of big earrings... big, Christmas tree earrings that is. ;)
I'll be adding some more pictures tomorrow of my new tree topper that I got for a steal and a few of the tree too. Please come back and check them out!

ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful tree! I love how you can see the lights on the trees outside the window in the background.
ReplyDeleteRe: the tree skirt, sometimes we find the PERFECT thing in the least expected places when we are not looking.
WOW, that is such a pretty tree! I love a "fat" tree, too. every year we buy a real one, and I make sure it's a big fat one...I have lots of ornaments! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Kate,
