Merry Christmas, friends!
Here it is, Christmas Day, the perfect time for my Christmas tour, right?!
At least technically I'm not late. But after a month of gloomy days with no sunshine (horrible for picture taking), a nasty virus going through our entire house, and a half-dead computer causing major technical difficulties on top of the chaotic holiday season, it just didn't happen. So now it will. On Christmas Day no less. Here it goes!
This table is in my entryway and I love to decorate it for the season.
I've really tried to lay off buying Christmas decor because I have plenty. I only picked up a few things this year and this burlap sign was one of them...
On to the "fancy" tree room. (named by my boys, it's the tree in our living room).
I've posted more pics of this "fancy" tree in years past that you can see here.
I love my glass cloches, this one is pretty big so I filled it up.
Even my great-grandma's cabinet gets a little greenery.
Is it weird that every time I think of the verse "Joy to the World" I think of Clark Griswold singing it in his Kermit the frog type voice in Lampoon's Christmas Vacation? I can't help it.
I love old-fashioned Santas. This guy is an ornament but I used him on a table.
My dining room table...
My centerpiece is simple, I put it together using greenery and ornament leftovers.
Now on to my kitchen and family room where it's much more relaxed and a little bit rustic.
We use the big old-fashioned colored light bulbs on the kid's tree. I get more compliments on those lights. I love them too, they remind me of my grandparent's house when I was a kid, they always put them on the outside of their home and I thought they were so neat.
Half of the ornaments on the tree are hand made by my boys. It's special
to pull out those ornaments each year and I'm always amazed by how fast
the time flies. Mr. Chic made me this one...
The joy letters are new. I LOVE them.
They are just fun!Another new thing...
This little deer head, he might have to stay out all year because I really like him. Except that red bow tie is going to have to go!
My fireplace is decked out for Christmas from top to bottom! :)
This is so easy but I love it. Birch logs and greenery in a basket with lights.
I like to curl up right here and drink my coffee and read blogs and sometimes my magazines. I just realized I can see pieces of popcorn on my rug. Keepin' it real, folks... keepin' it real. :)
Well, I sure hope you enjoyed my Christmas tour. I left out my kitchen and some other things because that would be one super-duper-long blog post. You can see some of my past Christmas decorations here.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
Really, really pretty. I especially love your dining room table and your pillow shot with the shimmery cable knit! Happy New Year!
