Last week I shared my Farmhouse Christmas decor here. This week I am sharing my "fancy" Christmas decor, fancy according to my two little boys. Instead of fancy I like to say it is Chic. Lots of gold and silver, and this year I snuck in some black and white. These colors are in the front of my home in the foyer and formal living and dining rooms.
Now, the tour.... when you step in the front door you'll be standing next to my lovely and ginourmous 9 foot tree that is full of dead lights. That's right, this pre-lit tree is dead. Last year, I was really done with putting away Christmas decorations. I mean... D.O.N.E. I decided to leave the lights I added on it while storing it. Worst idea ever. It was a big, fat, tangled mess when we put it up. I had to take all the lights off it and put them back on. When I got to the final strand and plugged it in I blew a fuse and all the lights went out on it! I proceeded to blow the fuse 3 more times before I decided I was going to have to get more cords. This did not put me in the Christmas spirit. This put me in a sweating, cussing under my breath, bah humbug mood. I wanted to throw this tree out the window. But alas, I kept at it and finally got the darn thing lit up again.
Thank goodness I think it looks pretty good despite the very shoddy lighting job by yours truly.
Across from the tree I have a cozy chair with too many pillows on it. Long hair don't care. I LOVE pillows. A lot.
It's a good place to curl up with a book and coffee.
They are just the cutest little things.
I would love to get a few more but not until after Christmas when they go on clearance. :)
I am also loving the very trendy deer head we are still seeing all over. My hubs, Mr. Chic, made this black, white and gold lovely for me. Did I mention that we have a side business Chic Wood Creations. We make reclaimed wood stuff. I want to keep it all but can't keep everything. This one is a keeper for sure!
I also bought several of these gold deer ornaments for my big tree. They are pretty big and add a nice touch to my 9foot dead pre-lit tree.
Can you spot any more deer heads on my tree?
I also added some black and white on the couch with this cute pillow combo.
I also really love domes. Want something to look more fancy? Put a dome on it.
This dome is very large and full of plastic ornaments. Plastic is the key!
You can sort of tell how big it is in my next photo.
Next on the tour is Tamyra from Positively Southern, please head on over to see her beautiful tour. We'll all be back next Wednesday for Part 3, the final tour.
And without further ado, here is the list of bloggers on the Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour.
Kate, What stunning decor. I love the color combination and the fun details like your ornament filled cloche (stealing that idea) and the black and white pillow. This space definitely adds a glamorous statement to your Merry and Bright home.
ReplyDeleteKate, first I have to laugh at your tree saga because I was in the same boat with you. My tree almost got the best of me too. With that said; your tree is BEAUTIFUL! The gold, silver, and cream combination is fancy. I love the bottle brush trees and the black and white add a bit of glam. Loving it all.
ReplyDeleteKate, I love your black and white and gold decor! Beautiful!
