Hello, friends!
Welcome to the first installment of the Merry & Bright Holiday Home Blog Tour! I can't believe it is that time of the year already. We have had an unseasonably warm fall in the Midwest so it feels like it should be about September... but here we are on the last day of November with Christmas right around the corner!
This Christmas season I am so excited to have a shiplap wall to decorate in my kitchen. My hubby and I put up a shiplap accent wall in the eating area of my kitchen back in March, I have loved decorating it for every season but Christmas just might be my favorite.
Before I get into the nitty-gritty details of my Christmas kitchen let me just say that I am so excited to be part of this lovely Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour Blog Hop! A special thank you to Shelly at Confetti Style and Kellie at Design Asylum for organizing. I'm also excited to be part of this talented group of bloggers...
Now... back to the decor! This winter I am really digging the buffalo check! I can't get enough of it!! I added as much to my kitchen as I could without it being overkill (hopefully). I layered some pillows next to my console table along my shiplap wall. Here is a similar buffalo check pillow cover for less than $10 bucks! This is a similar one to the chalkboard background black Holiday pillow at a great price, under $10 too!
This lovely table was made by my talented hubby from reclaimed wood and (new) pipe pieces and wheels, I absolutely love it! The hubs made the table, JOY sign, chevron sign and the snowflake... he is pretty much a stud.
I just did the fun part of decorating! I got the buffalo check plate at Hobby Lobby for half off and the cute buffalo check bucket in the dollar bins at Target! It was $3 and probably long gone, the cute stuff sells so fast there! I plan to use it to hold my Christmas cards. Pretty cute, huh?
This JOY sign was also made by my hubs from reclaimed barnwood. It is that perfect chippy barn red color. We took it to the Hobnob Holiday Market a week ago where we were vendors, we sold one had one this one left after the sale. I was SO happy we didn't sell them all! This is one of my favorite Christmas pieces he made.
On the other side of the console table I have this cute Christmas pillow which looks like it's straight out of Magnolia Market. Here is a link to a similar holiday pillow, same maker! Did I mention that Fixer Upper is my favorite show and Season 4 premiered last night?! So glad it's back on! I think JoJo could be my BFF, she is the best! And, Chip?! Hilarious dude, I think he's my hubby's brother from another mother, love them both! Anywaaaaaaay, back to my house!
This shows off my kitchen table (also made by my hubs, @chic_wood_creations, look him up on instagram and Facebook). I found a red and black plaid table runner (similar here) because I love it AND, some cotton stems (finally!!)
I think the cotton stems are SO pretty! Soft and snow like, perfect for winter, but actually perfect for summer too. They are really versatile. I have been trying to buy some from my local Hobby Lobby but they are always sold out. I did manage to score a few there, score! If you can't find any you can get some here but they are a bit more expensive than the Hob Lob.
I love the old-fashioned colorful Christmas bulbs! They remind me of being a kid, my grandparent's used to string them along the front of their house and I thought they looked so festive. I like to incorporate some in my house (which you will see in another post). They are getting hard to find but you can get them here. The bulbs don't last long (unfortunately) but they are so pretty I like to reuse them. This year I stuck them in a large glass candle holder and made a centerpiece for my island. I love how they add some color to the space.
I was super excited to find these two Rae Dunn Christmas mugs the other day. They fit perfectly with my buffalo check theme. They are getting hard to find but there are some here right now, I think they may sell out soon!
I hope that you've enjoyed my little Farmhouse Shiplap Kitchen tour! Please head on over to the other Merry & Bright Home Tours and check them out!

Kate, I LOVE buffalo check! All of it in your home looks beautiful and adds just the right amount of festive cheer! I am loving that sign too. So glad that you didn't sell it.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your festive touches! Those mugs are so cute. Love that JOY sign and the COZY pillow - such festive words for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteDid that due to the fact that skin care manufactures are self regulated? this indicates they could encompass numerous and questionable elements into their products, as long as they print a label list of ingredients. sad, but genuine, that that is their best real rule. but, that isn't always to mention that all pores and skin care producers are playing. For more ==== >>>>>> http://www.strongtesterone.com/operalux-anti-aging-cream/
