If you are new to my blog let me give a brief introduction. I am Kate, an interior decorator, blogger, and stay-home mom once my kids get home from school. :) I love decorating, DIY, and finding a bargain. As my blog name suggests, I create a chic look on a shoestring budget (most of the time) and love to share my tips with you here on the blog. I also host a blog link-up party, Flaunt it Friday. I would love for you to party with me. I look forward to hanging out with you here again in the near future.
On with the tour!
Last week I shared my Shiplap Farmhouse Christmas kitchen here. This week I am sharing my "fancy" Christmas decor, fancy according to my two little boys. :) The word fancy is so funny to me, especially when my kids say it. So here is my fancy Christmas decor...
Can a deer head be fancy??
It can if it is wearing a bunch of sparkly gold ornaments on it's antlers.
Also, I received this fancy and very beautiful Boxwood Wreath from Silk Plants Direct. It is great quality, I love how it looks on this art piece in my entryway. I will probably leave it here all year and just pull off the Merry Christmas banner.
Here is my fancy tree all lit up.
The tree is SO fancy with it's leopard print ribbon and sparkly deer head ornaments...
I have a ginormous glass cloche (dome) that I love to fill. This year I made a little scene with Santa and a Christmas tree. They fit perfectly!
Across from the tree I have a cozy chair with too many pillows on it. I throw the joy pillow on the floor and snuggle in with my coffee right in front of the tree, it's the perfect spot!
I am still digging the trendy deer head. When is it going to go out of style? Hopefully not really soon because I'm starting to have a little collection of these suckers. My hubs, Mr. Chic, made this black, white and gold lovely for me. Did I mention that we have a side business Chic Wood Creations. We make reclaimed wood stuff.
This is the table in my entry which is open to my fancy room. I continued the leopard and gold but added a little bit of rustic-ness with all of the burlap you see here, it's okay to mix fancy with burlap, see for yourself... :)
This fancy frame with the rustic burlap art is a perfect example of mixing fancy and rustic together, I love it!
As I mentioned earlier, I love pillows! Of course I bust out some special ones for Christmas like this one. Is it weird that every time I think of the verse "Joy to the World" I think of Clark Griswold singing it in his Kermit the frog type voice in Lampoon's Christmas Vacation right before he plugs in his Christmas lights?? I can't help it.
My dining room has a centerpiece made of leftovers. Not those kinds of leftovers....leftover faux greenery and plastic ornaments. Throw them all in a wooden dough bowl and there you have it... Fabulously fancy! ;)
Next on the tour is Tamyra from Positively Southern, please head on over to see her beautiful tour. We'll all be back next week for Part 3, the final tour.
Here's a link to everyone..
Chic On A Shoestring Decorating (that's me!)
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
Those deer heads are just darling and I love how you've added them to your Christmas decor. The spot on your chair/sofa is by far the prettiest I've seen all season, the throw and pillows----amazing!!!
