Hey there! How are you on this beautiful fall day?
I'm so excited that it's finally starting to feel like fall around here... brisk evenings and sunny beautiful days that are perfect, not too hot or too cold. Too bad fall weather didn't last all year round, at least not here in the Midwest.
But that's part of the reason it's so special.
With the arrival of some fall weather I finally got my fall decorating mojo back and put out some of my pumpkinlicious decor. I just coined the turned pumpkinlicious, awesome... yes?
I talked about my mercury glassaddiction love when I did my living room tour. Pottery Barn has some beautiful mercury glass pumpkins which are just so pretty. Of course I think they are awesome because they are mercury glass.
However, the price tag leaves something to be desired. Sadly, the pricemakers at Pottery Barn were smoking something when they came up with these crazy prices. $39.50 for a large one (large = 10.5 inches wide and 6.5 inches tall... that's not very large in my book), small is a much more reasonable (hahaha) $24.50.
Once again, thank goodness for TJ Maxx. Over the past several weeks I've been able to score several mercury glass pumpkins in many shapes and sizes for 75% or more off the Pottery Barn prices.
Yippee! This is why I love TJ's.
I decided to group them together and make a vignette in my entryway. I used some candlestick holders I already had to vary the height and added some of my old pumpkin/berry/viney swags.
I was able to get all of these mercury glass pumpkins for less than the "large" $39.50 one from Pottery Barn.
I love them but I love the small price tag even more. :)
Also, wanted to give my chicsters a heads up that I am hosting the second annual "Flaunt Your Fall" party on Sunday, September 30. Mark your calenders for this fun party! Will be making an "official" announcement soon...
Found any great deals on fall decor this year?

JUST as beautiful as the overpriced PB ones! I found some at Costco for $10 a piece and passed them up because I didn't want to spend $30 that day (for 3 of them). I went back less than a week later and they were already gone and I am officially kicking myself in the hiney!
ReplyDeleteI love them! I am also using mercury glass this year...I only have one pumpkin (I got it at Gordman's for $9.99 with a 20% off coupon bringing it down to about $8!) but I also found a darling mercury glass owl at Kohl's! I am on the lookout for more...I will have to check TJ's out!
ReplyDeletelast year i got some mercury glass owls at the christmas tree shopps. super score, i think they were like 5 and 7 dollars, or something like that. i love the way mercury glass sort of glams anything up, you know?
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty fall decor!! I haven't gotten started yet, despite the fact that it feels like fall here too! (also in the midwest.) Unless you count lighting a pumpkin spice candle that smells amazing!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great! I love the mercury glass, great find at TJ Maxx - love that store!
ReplyDeleteOh they are just beautiful and the discounts stores are the way to go. I'm surprised anyone shops at those full price stores. I started out at Ross and Marshalls this year and my first vignette was based on the play Wicked because it started with a purple and green hat and the green word "wicked". From there we got on a roll and started using things we already had to continue the movie/book/theater theme. So it came out pretty inexpensive since we had most of the items we used on hand (in my daughter's bedroom).
ReplyDeleteI love Mercury Glass. I have a lot of it throughout my home. Your vignette is so pretty. Love it! I get alot of min at Home Goods.

I really love the fall decor!
ReplyDeleteLove your mercury glass pumpkins, I adore the look of them.
ReplyDeleteAnother mercury glass addict checking in! I have a mercury glass one from TJ, too - love me some good find at TJ! - visiting from Centsational Girl.
ReplyDeleteI love the mercury glass look too. Your front hall table looks great with the pumpkins at all different heights.
ReplyDeleteI love Mercury glass as well. I actually scored two of the same pumpkins you bought, but I bought mine at HomeGoods. Plus Kohl's has some mercury glass votive holders. Gorgeous!!! Love your display. Wish I had found all those different sizes like you did. ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have one from T.J.'s that I bought last year. So far I haven't used it but I like your idea of setting them on the candle holders! What a great look! I love those new ones at PB too... wish I lived near their stores and could snatch one up on mark down! Yeah right! It's so much more fun to get them at a reasonable price though and there is no guilt! I like the pumpkin vines laced around- perfect!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a fan of pumpkins - I absolutely love your mercury glass collection! I'm so going to have to make a trip to TJ's to hunt for some of my own. I, too, like the ones from PB, but I can't bring myself to shell out that much.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are really cute! I haven't been to TJ's lately, wonder if they have any pumpkins left. I feel a shopping trip coming up!
ReplyDeleteI love mercury glass too! Have you tried that mercury glass spray paint yet? It's on my to do list, I'm thinking I will score some cheap pumpkins after Halloween and give it a shot :)
ReplyDeleteI featured your pumpkins today at Mod Mix Monday!
ReplyDeleteAHHHHH I MUST. GO. TO. TJ MAXX. TOMORROW!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I'm loving the mercury pumpkins this year. Must check out TJs and Marshall's again this week to see if I can find any.
ReplyDelete39 bucks for all those mercury glass pumpkins is a amazing deal. Those pumpkins are the kind of things that make people's jaw drop.
